My name is Sarah! My soon to be Husband’s name is Andrew and we have an adorable 10 year old Newfoundland named Moose! Andrew is in the process of becoming a distiller making Whiskey / Bourbon. To do this process legally it takes some time to get through the red tape. So we found we could make fragrance oil with a still! However that would be a lot of lavender to make a small amount. You bet we already bought the candle supplies so we got fragrance oil as well and made candles. Then Andrew was repairing a small knob for his mom’s antique piece and had left over epoxy. I had the bright idea to make badge reels with the epoxy! We thought this would be some fun things for me to do while Andrew is at the shop doing his Whiskey distilling. Everything else on our Etsy shop has been a product of me falling into a craft hole via Pinterest/ Instagram : ).

Andrew’s day job is a software engineer… so basically our tech guy! My day job is a nurse. I have just recently left the ICU beside for a much needed break. If you look up healthcare burnout in the dictionary you would see my picture there. Unfortunately with the current nursing shortages it accelerated my need to leave the ICU. Being in charge of the sickest patients in the state and being dangerously understaffed was taking a toll on my mental health. Which also impacted my physical health too. I truly do love being a ICU nurse and wasn’t ready to leave bedside … however like I tell my patients family members you have to take care of yourself first before you can efficiently help others. This Etsy store hands down has been the way I have been keeping myself busy. It’s not about the money it’s about funneling all this energy into a creative outlet.
